Air Fryer Cinnamon Churros

Air Fryer Cinnamon Churros

All the magic of churros without the deep fryer. These come out crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and absolutely irresistible rolled in cinnamon sugar.

Serves: 4 | Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil spray

Cinnamon sugar coating

  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon

Chocolate dipping sauce

  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • ½ cup thickened cream

Method

  1. Bring water, butter, sugar and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add flour and stir vigorously until a dough forms.
  2. Cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.
  3. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe 10cm lengths onto baking paper.
  4. Freeze for 15 minutes to firm up (this helps them hold shape in the air fryer).
  5. Spray air fryer basket with oil. Cook churros at 190°C for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden.
  6. Roll immediately in cinnamon sugar.
  7. For the sauce: heat cream until just simmering, pour over chocolate, stir until smooth.

Tips

  • Don't skip the freezing step — it makes a big difference to the final shape.
  • Serve immediately for maximum crispiness.

Made with the Devanti Air Fryer 8L LCD.
